MI6 v Internet The Internet - with its freedom of access to information - is the antithesis of everything MI6 has built its power upon. Senior officers in MI6 feel deeply threatened by this technology because it effectively does them out of a job. If there are no secrets to steal, there is no need for MI6. While I was still working for MI6 in 1994, the internal security branch circulated to all staff a form that required any member of staff who used the internet to register it with them. Presumably anybody with access to the internet was regarded as a security threat. You will also see on my parole licence conditions that when I was released from prison, I was explicitly forbidden to use the internet. You will see that MI6 has already spent a great deal of taxpayers money already on legal fees to injunct this site in Switzerland and have the site removed from the Californian Geocities ISP. What do they expect to achieve? Every time they take down this site, I will put it back up somewhere else. If necessary, I will find a Chinese ISP and put it up there. Let's see them try to win an injunction against me in China! |
